March 2024

Bill Saylor passed away in Bradenton recently. Bill and his wife Diane attended Gloria Dei for many years and were volunteers for many activities. Bill’s funeral and burial will be in his church in Michigan later in April.

May 2023

Jackie and Chuck Demlow live near family in Indiana. Chuck is active and well. Jackie recently received good news that the her Multiple Myloma treatment is working well.  Chuck and Jackie say God Bless to their friends at Gloria Dei .
Tom and Linda Herrman live in Satellite Beach near their children and grandchildren.  Linda works at a Pastor’s Assistant. Tom is “home with the dogs”. He recently had a noninvasive procedure to replace a heart valve, and is recovering very well. They miss their Gloria Dei friends and say hello to all.

April 2023

Albertine Veenstra lives in an independent senior building in downtown Bradenton. After years of guiding the Gloria Dei Quilters in making hundreds of quilts, she now sews children’s clothing from discarded linens to be distributed by the nearby Presbyterian church. Albertine still entertains family visitors from her home country of Luxemburg.  Hello to everyone from Albertine.

March 2023

Long time Gloria Dei member Ellen Mueller resides in an Assisted Living facility in Bradenton. She is very active there as a member of the Resident Council and continues her favorite pastime reading novels from the large facility library. She uses her walker to navigate the large facility and its outdoor space. She says she feels good and misses everyone! Ellen says hello to all her Gloria Dei friends.
Donnis Casey wishes to greet all of her friends as she recovers following major back surgery. Thanks to new medication Donnis is moving around better in her home in St Louis, driving short distances to do errands, shopping and to social events. She is enjoying her gradual return to independence and looks forward to returning to Florida when she can. Donnis says Happy Easter and good health to everyone!
Grenadene Harder is at home in Indiana after her hip fracture rehabilitation. She is regaining independence and has progressed to walking with the support of a walker and help from a part-time aide. Her goal is to return to her previous health status and to enjoy being 96 years old.  Grenadene was a faithful quilter at Gloria Dei and a big fan of her son John’s girls basketball team. She greets all of her friends in Florida.
